About C.R.S.D.R.A
The Columbia River
Scale Drag Racing Association (CRSDRA) was established as a club
organization in 2008, by a group of slot car drag racers wanting to
persue their interests of trying to get their 'need for speed' at a
scale 1/4 of a mile at a time.
By scale, we race
1:24th or 1:25th plastic (model cars), lexan (a thin clear plastic which
is painted from the inside), or resin cast bodies, with a variety of
chassis' constructed from brass, steel components from various
manufacturers which requires one to utilize their skills in soldiering
either 'piano' wire, stainless steel tubing, and some have come up with
their own idea of using 'carbon fiber tubing' expoxying this to the
components.
The
main idea is using ones 'imagination'...to build the car(s) they always
have dreamed of owning, putting an electric motor in it, which can cost
anywhere from $10 on up...and come have fun.
If
you have a question, there is always someone who will help you with an
answer...and if that does not satisfy your curiosity, we can guide you
for places to look on the internet. Yes, racing toy cars is a hit all
over the world!
We
have over 30 members, ranging in age from 6 to 67, and race 'bracket
classes' (dial your own time), Index classes (trying to run
consistently on a set time) and Class racing, where one builds a car for
a certain set of rules; weight of car, motor restrictions, but this
allows one to run as fast as possible...just get to the finish line
first! We race every Saturday starting from 10am when the doors open for
practice, and try and start eliminations around noon, so we can conclude
the program well before 6pm when the doors close for the day.
Membership
of $35 per year for adults, and $15 for kids under 18, gives you the
privilage of coming to the track to practice on your own for $5 all day
to test your ideas on days a race is not being held, and you also save
money on entrance fees for bracket racing, which is $4 per car with a 5
car maximum by being a member, $5 per car if not a member.
Please
come join us, your 'imagination', skills, and ideas may be something you
can share with us!

Races every Saturday
Doors open at 10:00 AM
